About our Kent cottages

Our story began in a Harty – a quiet little corner of the Isle of Sheppey – when a cluster of characterful farm buildings underwent a transformation. Now a complex of five family-run Kent cottages, they’ve been carefully converted to preserve all their traditional charm and the area’s great natural beauty. From these comfortable and cosy holiday cottages, those in the know can escape the hubbub of daily life and unwind in a relaxed rural hideaway.

In 2011 the running of the Mocketts Farm Cottages was taken over by Alex and Victoria Burden, owners of the neighbouring Ferry House country restaurant. Since then this Kentish idyll has established itself as one of the Garden of England’s most beautiful accommodation farms.

As for the story so far – it’s had numerous chapters! This is a backdrop that shares big ‘I do’ days and special celebrations, reconnects couples and makes many a happy family memory. From bird watchers, to leisure seekers, lovers of the great outdoors, culture cravers, foodies and history seekers, the Mocketts Farm Cottages are a base to explore all that this privileged corner of Kent has to offer.

We’ve seen many faces so far and look forward to welcoming both the new and the familiar as we write new chapters – and become a little part of yours.
